It has been my privilege to serve here as pastor for 21 years.  I grew up not too far from Durand  -- just north of Detroit – and was drawn to faith in Christ as boy.  After attending Wayne State University in Detroit I graduated from Cedarville University and then from Grace Theological Seminary. 

By God’s grace, Sandy and I have been married for 35 years.  We have four grown children.  Our oldest (Joaney) is a schoolteacher in South Carolina.  Our second, Nick married in 2007 and lives with Jenn, his wife, and daughter in South Carolina.  Jesse is a 2nd year medical student & Bethany is in her 1st year of graduate studies in art.

1st is an active, loving, vibrant fellowship of believers.  We are convinced that God has placed us here to be a rescue station for those who are lost; an emergency room for wounded believers and a house of worship for all.
